Working closely with leaders & class teachers to lead the development of Thrive

A Bristol Academy needs a positive, caring and committed person with good communication skills to work within a team and ensure the very best opportunities for our pupils. The position will involve working closely with leaders and class teachers to lead the development of Thrive in the academy and deliver 1:1 Thrive sessions to children. It is an exciting time at our school and this unique and vital role represents an excellent opportunity to be part of something special in a highly supportive, professional environment.

The Thrive provision in our academy is a whole school approach – we use it to shape emotional and social learning around school and in class rooms. In addition to this, we have several Thrive rooms where we run 1:1 provision for Thrive.


  • To develop the Thrive provision in the academy so that emotional and social learning for children is exceptional
  • To support and help develop other Thrive practitioners in the academy, so that there is a continuity to the whole school provision
  • To ensure that class teachers are supported to develop their own Thrive practice in the curriculum
  • To contribute to the promotion of the wellbeing of children within the Academy


  • GCSE/ O-level grade C English and Maths
  • TA NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Thrive licensed practitioner
  • Skills of empathy, listening, communication and responding with appropriate language to build rapport with children and parents/ carers from a variety of ages, abilities and backgrounds.
  • Willingness to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks.
  • 2+ years experience of working with children and young people
